What Is Mezvia?
Mezvia is web-based laboratory management software (LIMS) for testing laboratories working to ISO/IEC 17025, inspection bodies working to ISO/IEC 17020 and personnel certification bodies working to ISO/IEC 17024. The process runs on linked records from sample receipt to work orders, from raw data to technical review and from the report to QR verification.
Several laboratories or units are defined under one organisation, and each user sees only the data of the laboratories they are authorised for. It is sector-independent and suits food, water and environment, chemistry, mechanical and other testing fields.
Mezvia is offered as a cloud service; it runs in the browser with nothing to install. The user interface is in Turkish.
Customers, Sample Receipt and Work Orders
- Customer records: companies, individuals, public bodies and foreign customers; Turkish tax and ID number validation, branches and contacts.
- Turkish-aware search: typing "sahin" finds "ŞAHİN".
- Multi-sample receipt: acceptance, conditional acceptance or justified rejection; the method version is fixed at receipt and numbers are assigned automatically.
- Chain of custody: storage, transport, subcontracting, return and disposal are tracked as append-only records.
- Sample storage and labels: tree-structured storage locations; QR-coded sample labels are printed from the browser.
- Data protection: records are archived with a reason rather than deleted; ID numbers are masked for unauthorised users.
Test Catalogue, Planning and Raw Data
- Test catalogue: matrices, parameters and units; method versions are tracked as draft, in force and withdrawn, and a published version cannot be changed.
- Planning: analysts and dates are assigned in bulk; the method of a test not yet started can be changed with a reason, and tests can be added to a sample later.
- Raw data engine: 11 field types, replicate measurements, tables, conditional fields and limit warnings; every cell change is written to the audit trail.
- Formula engine: average, median, standard deviation, relative standard deviation and unit conversion; formulas are type- and unit-checked and calculate live.
- Excel-like worksheet: samples as rows, measurements as columns; pasting from Excel, fill-down and row-by-row automatic saving.
- Instrument data import: CSV, TXT or JSON files produced by an instrument are mapped to fields and written to raw data after analyst confirmation.
Technical Review, Approval and Reporting
- Technical review queue: results, raw data, formulas, cell history and notes on one screen; take for review, approve, return with a reason and withdraw approval.
- Out-of-specification investigation: an investigation record can be opened from the review screen for an unexpected result.
- Report publication: reports are previewed, approved and published as a PDF from a frozen snapshot, with a SHA-256 digest.
- QR verification: the report's QR code opens a page showing the report's validity and digest without signing in.
- Revision and withdrawal: revisions keep the same number as Rev1, Rev2 with a change list; a report can be withdrawn with a reason.
- Scope markers: results outside the accreditation scope and results from external laboratories are marked on the report.
Measurement Uncertainty and Decision Rules
- Uncertainty budget: defined in the method with versions; expanded uncertainty is calculated as U = k·uc.
- Decision rules: simple acceptance, guard bands with ILAC-G8 zones and customer-specific limits.
- Statement on the report: the result is printed with ± U, the limit and the conformity statement.
- Agreement with the customer: the decision rule and limits agreed in the work order are recorded.
Equipment, Personnel Competence and Materials
- Equipment card: calibration, intermediate check, maintenance and failure history; a non-conforming result or failure takes equipment out of service automatically.
- Validity check: out-of-date equipment cannot be used in tests; validity at the time of use is frozen in the record.
- Competence matrix: per person, test and capability (performing, data entry, technical review, approval); granted and revoked with a reason.
- Enforcement: a laboratory setting can require competence for planning, analysis, data entry, review and approval.
- Chemicals, CRMs and reference materials: lot tracking, effective expiry and quarantine; solution preparation with a genealogy of source lots.
Quality: Control Charts, Proficiency Tests, CAPA and Scope
- Quality control: warning- or block-level checks defined in the method; Levey-Jennings control charts and Westgard rules.
- Proficiency tests: results are entered and z and En scores are calculated following ISO 13528.
- Nonconformity and CAPA: definition, impact assessment, root cause, corrective action and closure.
- Accreditation scope: versioned and flexible scope support; results outside the scope are marked on the report.
- Subcontracting: approved external providers and dispatch flow; external results cannot be entered without the original external report and go through technical review.
Inspection (ISO/IEC 17020)
- Inspection items: equipment, batches and structures with their periods and next inspection dates.
- Checklists: versioned; critical items are flagged and limits are defined for measured fields.
- On-site recording: the inspector marks items as conforming, non-conforming or not applicable; the calibration of the equipment used is checked.
- Inspector authorisation: only authorised inspectors carry out inspections.
- Inspection report: revisable and verifiable by QR code.
Personnel Certification (ISO/IEC 17024)
- Schemes: versioned certification schemes and a question bank; exam papers are generated randomly.
- Applications: candidate applications and eligibility assessment are recorded.
- Exams: theory and practical assessment; an examiner cannot assess without an impartiality declaration.
- Link to the laboratory: the test piece is sent to the laboratory as an internal sample.
- Decision and certificate: the examiner cannot take the certification decision; QR-verified certificates, confirmation, surveillance, suspension and withdrawal.
Customer Portal, Dashboard and Analytics
- Customer portal: separate sign-in and accounts opened by invitation; customers see work order and sample status, PDFs of test and inspection reports and certificates.
- Dashboard: work queues for samples, tests, reports, resources, quality, inspection and certification, shown according to the user's permissions.
- Analytics: median and 90th percentile turnaround time, on-time delivery rate, monthly sample intake, workload, return rate, nonconformity sources and control chart violations.
Security and Audit Trail
- Audit trail: append-only records chained with HMAC-SHA256 and protected at database level; chain integrity is verified with a command.
- Session security: two-factor authentication with TOTP and recovery codes; rate limiting on sign-in attempts.
- Data separation: organisation and laboratory data are closed by default; only permitted access is opened.
- Authorisation: a permission catalogue and roles; each user can perform only authorised actions.
